Is your dog “that dog”?

Our dogs can have an impact on people outside of our household, so we should always do our best to make sure they don’t become “that dog” that everyone in the neighborhood dreads. It is your responsibility to pick up your dog’s waste, not allow your dog to not bark or whine incessantly when left alone outside, keep your dog properly restrained and make sure that your home and yard are secure to keep your dog from escaping.

.

Pick up after your dog

This is the most basic responsibility when it comes to proper pet etiquette. Dog waste harbors disease and parasites and can spread sickness. Pick up after your dog immediately and dispose of it properly. We have added a dog waste disposal bag dispenser in the common area along Stenning Drive.

Keep your dog on a leash

All dogs should be kept on a leash at all times when walked in the neighborhood by a person that can maintain complete physical control of the dog.

Make sure that your home and yard are secure to keep him from escaping.

Not only is an unleashed pet a danger to the pet itself, with the risk of running out into traffic or running away, it can also be dangerous for those in the community or other pets. If you experience an incident with an unrestrained dog, please notify animal control.

Do not allow dog barking or whining

The NCC Code prohibits continuous and/or incessant noise for a period of 10 minutes or intermittently for 30 minutes or more. Please refer to the NCC Code for more information:
